Montmartre is a highly historical neighbourhood of Paris! It combines a unique old-Paris atmosphere with terrific views over the city and quaint narrow streets. No matter what part of Montmartre you are in, there are always adorable sights nearby.
The holiday apartment is situated just 500 meters from Montmartre’s main landmark, the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, and you don’t even need to climb those 222 steps leading up from the Square Louise Michel. There, get to the top of this 80 m-high basilica for a breathtaking panorama of Paris, and stop to admire the gorgeous ceiling mosaic (one of the world’s largest). Place du Tertre, a stone's throw away, is perfect for a glimpse of the artistic side of Paris. Painters gather on this picturesque square and keep alive the long artistic tradition that made the Butte Montmartre so famous. Plus, you’ll love taking back home a portrait of you as a souvenir!
In the surrounding narrow streets, you’ll find many charming cafés and restaurants. Try the Moulin de la Galette, also one of the last of two mills in Paris, or the Café des Deux Moulins, where part of the movie “Amélie Poulain” was shot, both located on Rue Lepic. On your way there, don’t miss Rue des Saules, a very charming street full of character. And for your evening agenda the Theatre de l'Atelier, a little gem among Parisian theatres, is 9-minute walk from the holiday flat!
