Montmartre is a historical and bohemian quarter, known for its village atmosphere, its painters and its paved streets. The mills and vineyards that invaded the area then are almost gone, but the charm remains intact. No matter what part of Montmartre you are in, there are always adorable sights nearby.
This holiday apartment has a special location, just 2 minutes from the Rue Lepic. There, not a chance you’ll miss one of the last two mills of Montmartre: The Moulin de la Galette, now serving as a restaurant. On the same street, enjoy a drink in the Café des 2 Moulins, where part of the movie “Amélie Poulain” was shot.
Montmartre’s main landmark is without a doubt the Sacré-Coeur, 700 meters away from the vacation apartment. Once there, get to the top of this 80 m-high basilica for a breathtaking panorama of Paris, and stop to admire the gorgeous ceiling mosaic (one of the world’s largest). Place du Tertre, a stone's throw away, is perfect for a glimpse of the artistic side of Paris. Painters gather on this picturesque square and keep alive the long artistic tradition that made the Butte Montmartre so famous. Plus, you’ll love taking back home a portrait of you as a souvenir! In the surrounding narrow streets, you’ll find many souvenir shops and restaurants. And for an exciting night, the world-famous Moulin Rouge cabaret is only 400 meters away from the holiday apartment.
